No one wants to experience a dental emergency<\/a>, and many of them happen unexpectedly or at inconvenient times. While these situations can range from common toothaches to accidental injuries like a broken tooth, some dentists have encountered strange cases that are hard to believe. Keep reading to learn about some of the weirdest dental emergencies ever!<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

#1: Mouth Garden<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Nature can sometimes work in mysterious ways. Once, a patient visited their dentist with a toothache and requested treatment. After X-rays were taken, a root canal was recommended, and during the process of cleaning the root and gums, something appeared that caught the dental team by surprise. Beneath the gum line, the dentist found seeds that seemed to already be sprouting with tiny plants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

#2: Super Glue Difficulties<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

One day, a dental team received an emergency call from a patient who needed assistance with her dental crown, which had fallen out. While this could have been a simple reattachment process, it turned out that the woman had already tried using super glue to place her restoration back on. For this reason, her teeth ended up being stuck together along with parts of her lips!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

#3: The Palate Infection<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A patient walked into a dentist\u2019s office and was showing malaise and other indications of infection. After sitting them down and having them open their mouth, the dentist discovered a foul smell. In the patient\u2019s mouth was one of the worst oral infections recorded, along with a hole in their palate. During the visit, the patient revealed how they\u2019d used tissues to help cover the hole, and how they changed this out once a week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

#4: The Calculus Bridge<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Plaque and tartar buildup is no joke when it comes to your oral health. If left unchecked for too long, this accumulation can form what\u2019s called a \u201ccalculus bridge,\u201d which can connect the teeth and gums. One patient had this issue and decided to brush the buildup aggressively, only to end up accidentally having their teeth fall out. Turns out, after many years of neglect, the only thing keeping their teeth in place was the calculus bridge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although some dental emergencies can be quite strange, they can also serve as a reminder to always keep your oral health in mind. Other than brushing, flossing, and rinsing with mouthwash every day, remember to visit your dentist every six months so that you can enjoy a stronger and healthier smile in the long run.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
