Making it More Convenient for You to Smile

Hello everyone! Just wanted to update my patients on how we’re trying to accommodate more families for dental work and how honored I am to be taking over the practice. Some of you may not know this, but I have a very large passion for children’s dentistry.

As a family dentist, I know that children are the most vulnerable tooth decay, so it’s an amazing feeling to help them get the dental care and protection they need, especially at their age. However, I now understand that it’s often difficult for families to make it into the office during the week.

I wanted to share with you all a brief story about a patient who I haven’t seen in a long time since their last visit. After hearing her story, I realized that our practice needs to make dental visits more accessible to working families.

Meet Mary,
One of the Busiest Mothers I've Met

When I noticed that Mary hadn’t been to the practice in over a year, I decided I would give her a call to figure out what was keeping her from visiting. As it turns out, not only is she a single mom with three kids to take care of, but she’s working full-time to make ends meet. What’s even more incredible is how active her children are. Jenny, her oldest, runs girls track. Tommy, her middle child, plays soccer. And Christina, her youngest, dances two times a week. Meeting all their schedules, working, and putting on food on the table is a tall order for a single parent!

After reviewing her patient records, I found that she had only brought each of her kids once in the past 18 months. Now, after learning her schedule, it’s obvious that bringing her kids in for dental exams and cleanings during the week is simply out of the question.

Saturday Hours Means Extra Convenience!

Because family dental care is so important, our practice is going to remain open on Saturdays at least 3 times a month to accommodate your Denton families. By being open Saturday, we can not only have Mary complete her dental visit, but Tommy, Jenny, and Christina as well. Additionally, Mary’s family will have the same access to our services on Saturday like she would during the week.

While Mary gets her silver-colored fillings replaced in one room, Tommy and Jenny can get their teeth cleaned and Christina can dance her way out the office after receiving her dental sealants. No longer does the family have to skip dental visits because of school, work, or after-school activities.

The Importance of
Family Dental Care

As a family dentist, we do our best to include as many services under one roof, so you don’t have to be referred to another doctor offsite to get your work done. You’re already on a tight schedule, so we include everything that your family needs to protect your oral health. Some of these services include:

  • Dental sealants (for your youngest)
  • Custom-made sportsguards (for your active ones)
  • Healthy habits for your kids to implement
  • Prevention exams and cleanings
  • Pre-orthodontic exams (if your child has a bad bite)

Furthermore, Mary can get her tooth decay treated before it causes worse problems and keeps her away from her work and kids.

At Denton Dental, building a relationship with families in the Denton community starts with us making dental care more accessible to busy and working families. After all, it’s the least we can do for you and your active children. We hope to see you again soon Mary, as well as Tommy and Jenny at their future tournaments and Christina at her next dance recital!
